Acid Wash Zip-Up Hoodie Collection for a US Streetwear Brand

Custom Hoodies ODM Streetwear US Market Bulk Order Completed

A Growing US Brand Seeking a Distinct Acid Wash Identity

The client, an independent streetwear label based in California, had an existing wholesale supplier but was unable to achieve consistent acid wash results across seasonal reorders. They came to us with a reference garment, mood board, and target wholesale price -- but without a Tech Pack.

Their primary requirement was a washed zip-up hoodie with a graphic patch embroidery on the chest, oversized silhouette, and a fleece-back construction that could stand up to their target GSM and hand-feel standards.

How We Approached Fabric, Construction and Decoration

🧵
Fabric & Weight
Selected a 380GSM 100% cotton loop-back fleece with a tightly brushed interior. The cotton-only composition was essential for the acid wash process to penetrate evenly and create the desired mottled effect without blotching on a poly blend.
Composition 100% Cotton
GSM 380 GSM
Construction Loop-Back Fleece
📐
Pattern & Silhouette
Developed a full drop-shoulder block with extended sleeve length and raw-hem cuff finish. The front kangaroo pocket was replaced with a welt pocket to preserve the graphic placement. Three size grades (M / L / XL) were drafted with agreed ease allowances before sample cutting.
Fit Oversized Drop Shoulder
Size Run M / L / XL
Hem Detail Raw Edge Cuff
🎨
Acid Wash & Embroidery
Garment-dyed in a mid-charcoal base before acid wash treatment. Three wash intensity tests were conducted to land on a result that matched the moodboard reference. Chest patch used a woven base with 3D embroidery for raised lettering; position and density confirmed on sample before bulk approval.

The acid wash consistency was the main thing we'd struggled with before. YECHENG ran the wash tests upfront and showed us the results at each stage -- that kind of transparency made it easy to approve the direction. The embroidery patch came out clean, the measurements were tight across the run, and the pieces shipped on time. We're already planning the next seasonal drop with them.

Oversized Raw Edge Acid Wash T-Shirt for a European Private Label Client

Custom T-Shirts OEM Private Label EU Market On-Time Delivery
Oversized raw edge acid wash t-shirt development reference

A European Private Label Buyer with a Complete Tech Pack and Tight Deadline

A German private label client building a streetwear-adjacent basics range approached us with a full Tech Pack, size grading table, and artwork files. They needed a heavy-weight oversized tee with a visible raw hem edge, enzyme wash finish, and screen-printed front graphic -- all delivered to a warehouse in the Netherlands within a fixed window before a seasonal launch.

The challenge was not the design complexity but the wash and raw-edge interaction: untreated edges needed to be pre-assessed for fray behaviour post-wash. We managed this through a dedicated wash trial on cut panels before sewing.

◆
Project Type OEM -- client provided full Tech Pack and artwork
◆
Product Oversized raw-hem acid wash T-shirt with screen-print front graphic
◆
Key Challenge Raw edge fray consistency post enzyme wash; colour variation within tolerance
◆
Quantity 800 pcs in 4 colorways (200 pcs each)
◆
Compliance Oeko-Tex fabric certification required; EU labelling standard

Technical Decisions That Drove the Outcome

🧵
Fabric Selection
A 260GSM 100% Oeko-Tex certified ring-spun cotton jersey was selected for its consistent enzyme wash response and ability to fray cleanly at raw edges. The weight balanced the oversized silhouette without excessive drape.
Composition 100% Cotton (Oeko-Tex)
GSM 260 GSM
Construction Ring-Spun Jersey
📐
Pattern Execution
Pattern was cut from client's Tech Pack with shrinkage allowance factored into hem length after enzyme wash. A pre-wash panel test confirmed 6.2% shrinkage in length, which was built into the cutting template. Fit approved on a single fit sample before bulk cutting.
Fit Type Oversized Boxy
Shrinkage Allowance +6.2% (tested)
Size Run XS / S / M / L / XL
🎨
Wash & Print Process
Enzyme wash was applied post-sewing to the assembled garment to achieve the worn-in surface texture. Screen print was applied after washing to prevent pigment distortion. Ink adhesion was spot-checked across colorways and confirmed to meet client's wash fastness requirement.
Wash Type Enzyme Wash
Print Method Screen Print (post-wash)

05
Final QC & Export
AQL 2.5 final inspection; sea freight to Rotterdam
Inline Inspection
Seam quality, print registration, and measurement deviation were checked every 50 pieces during sewing and again post-wash. Deviations beyond tolerance were flagged and corrected before the next production batch.
Final QC Standard
AQL 2.5 final inspection applied across all colorways. Defect categories included: print misalignment (>3mm), raw edge fraying outside tolerance, wash shade variation, and measurement out of spec.
Labelling & Compliance
EU composition and care labels in German, French, and Dutch were confirmed and sewn per client template. Hang tag with barcode and SKU was applied. Packing list and fabric cert were included in the export documentation.

We had worked with other Chinese manufacturers before but always had issues with wash consistency between colorways. YECHENG actually ran the panel tests and sent us photos at each stage -- that gave us confidence before we committed to bulk. The final product matched the approved sample. Labels were correct. Delivery landed exactly when they said it would. We'll be back next season with a tracksuit brief.

Embroidered Acid Wash Hoodie Tracksuit for a UK Streetwear Brand

Custom Tracksuits ODM Streetwear UK Market Repeat Order Secured

A UK Streetwear Brand Building a Matched Set with Distinctive Wash and Embroidery

A UK-based streetwear brand launching their second collection came to us with two separate reference garments -- a hoodie from one brand and a jogger from another -- and asked us to develop a coordinated two-piece tracksuit set with a unified acid wash effect and embroidered branding across both pieces.

Their concern was colour matching the wash effect between the top and bottom, which use different fabric constructions. We addressed this by developing a custom wash recipe that was applied to both garments simultaneously in the same wash batch.

◆
Project Type ODM -- reference garments provided; development of matched set
◆
Product 2-piece acid wash hoodie tracksuit with chest and leg embroidery
◆
Key Challenge Coordinating wash shade between hoodie and jogger from different fabric bases
◆
Quantity 500 sets (500 hoodies + 500 joggers); two colorways
◆

Matching Wash and Embroidery Across a Two-Piece Set

🧵
Unified Fabric Selection
Both pieces were developed in the same 100% cotton base yarn, with the hoodie in a 380GSM loop-back fleece and the jogger in a 340GSM brushed fleece. The same base dye lot was used to ensure the starting colour was identical before acid wash treatment.
Hoodie Fabric 380GSM Loop-Back Fleece
Jogger Fabric 340GSM Brushed Fleece
Dye Lot Matched base colour
📐
Coordinated Pattern Development
The hoodie block used a ribbed hem and cuff to contrast the raw edge aesthetic of the jogger. Elastic waistband and tapered ankle on the jogger were coordinated with the hoodie proportions to ensure the set read as intentionally matched when worn together.
Hoodie Style Pullover, ribbed hem/cuff
Jogger Style Tapered, elastic waist
Size Run S / M / L / XL / XXL
🎨
Batch Wash & Embroidery
Both hoodie and jogger were washed in the same batch using a single acid wash recipe to achieve consistent mottling. Embroidery was applied post-wash: chest logo on the hoodie and a leg wordmark on the jogger. Woven label on inside collar and inside waistband completed the branding.
Wash Method Same-batch acid wash

04
Pre-Production Approval
Full set in both colorways approved before bulk cut
05
Bulk Production & QC
500 sets; inline and final inspection per colorway
Wash Coordination
Hoodie and jogger pieces from the same set were washed together to prevent shade variation. Batch size was controlled to maintain wash water ratio, temperature, and timing consistency across all 500 sets.
Embroidery QC
Embroidery placement position was measured from the same reference point on each garment. Stitch count, thread density, and backing were checked on the first 20 pieces of each garment type before the full run continued.
Packing & Set Integrity
Each set was paired by size and bagged together with a single hang tag referencing both SKUs. The client requested a specific polybag size for shelf display -- this was sourced and confirmed before packing began.

The hardest part of a two-piece set is getting the wash to look like they belong together. We'd seen other suppliers fail at this by treating the pieces separately. YECHENG was upfront about needing to wash both pieces in the same batch -- that attention to detail is what made the difference. The embroidery was clean, the sets were packed correctly, and the whole project came in without surprises. Already in discussion for our AW drop.
